NARAL Pro-Choice Maryland welcomes new Executive Director

It is with great pleasure that the Boards of Directors announce that we have hired Lily Bolourian to be the new Executive Director of NARAL Pro-Choice Maryland!

Lily comes to helm of Maryland NARAL at an important time for reproductive health in our state and our nation. The daughter of Iranian asylees and a lifelong Marylander, Lily has been a leader in abortion and reproductive justice advocacy in the state for almost two decades. Her stellar background includes working in a clinic that provides abortion throughout pregnancy, serving as a senior aide to Montgomery County Councilmember Will Jawando, and being an activist with numerous progressive nonprofits.

Lily brings her wealth of experience and charisma to Maryland NARAL at a pivotal time for the organization and for reproductive rights as a whole. Her well-established ability to create grassroots change, to fundraise through grants and events, and to promote bottom-up democracy and transparency with supporters will ensure that Maryland NARAL will expand our reach in communities across our state.

Lily is especially focused on aligning the values and practices of our organization to reflect the greater movement for reproductive health, freedom, and justice. She looks forward to establishing new coalitions and relationships with organizations, elected officials, and activists as partners in a unified progressive movement that will be critical to thwarting the attacks on the right to an abortion and reproductive justice.
